Time To Upgrade
In the article about digitally upgrading education one quote or statement that really stood out to me was that "Ms. Davidson herself was appalled not long ago when her students at Duke, who produced witty and incisive blogs for their peers, turned in disgraceful, unpublishable term papers.". I would strongly have to agree with this statement, I think that students posting blogs on the internet is something that they like doing because it is digital and they can relate to it more. I can easily see that students would have better blogs than term papers. Writing a paper, for me at least, puts pressure on the students because it is for so much of their grade that many times it becomes overly stressful trying to make it the best and the writing isn't near as good as if they were just writing a fun blog online.
This short video clip is just some proof that education is becoming more digital and the need for things like blogging is important.

Hi (:
My name is Taylor Myers and I am a Junior at Fairmont State. I am in the Elementary Education Program and plan on teaching anywhere between K through 3rd grades. Children learn in all different ways but I believe that most children do better when working with hands on activities. I think that if they have to listen to the teacher talk all the time and they never get to be involved that they will not learn as well and become bored. If they have the chance to work with things themselves instead of just listening they will more than likely understand it better. For example if I was teaching a class about how to paint a picture, I am not just going to talk about it I am going to give the children paper and paint and let them try it on their own.
